3 Family Portraits - A Godless Exclusive - Out October 24
CW: Extremely graphic depictions of violence and vileness, distrubing content, anti-natalism, mental illness
This will probably represent either the zenith or nadir, depending on your perspective, of my writing to date. Bleak and depressing, this short tale told in three vignettes asks and answers the question of whether all deliveries are happy experiences. In this story they are definitely not!
Some folks who have read the story have these things to say:
"...a good extreme short and shows promise for another talent to be unleashed on to the community...4 stars" - Ryder Kinlay, author of the Misadventures of David Longbottom series
"I loved every single page" Dakota D., 5 star recommended review at Godless.com
I am beyond thrilled to have this short work come out via the Godless platform as part of the #31DaysOfGodless promotion. Drew Stepek of Godless devised and executed a great piece of artwork for the cover, and I am sharing the release day with Ryder Kinlay, who was extremely gracious to say yes to a neophyte in the writing community from across the ocan (she is based in Australia). One of the many things I enjoy about Godless is that they undercut big named digital book platforms while giving their authors the lion's share of royalties for releases. They also donate a portion of their cut to a charitable organization. For sales of this piece, I am going further myself, and donating all of my cut to that same charity (Children of The Night).
This story is only 50 cents because it is short, and because I don't want cost to be a barrier to anyone who wants to check it out (especially someone just coming across it who doesn't know who I am). My hope is that my name will now be a somewhat "known" quantity in the horror circles, and that folks will see my name in other projects and be intrigued to check it out (and there is more coming in the months to come!) I believe it stands alongside the other excellent releases on Godless.com, and I hope if you pick it up you'll enjoy it and review it!
I have extreme gratitude to express to Ryder, Drew, John Baltisberger, and Nik Robinson, for this piece specifically, and to my dear friends (and especially my wife) for supporting my creative endeavors over the years. I hope to make you proud with this, and what is to come!
